for the invention titled “Separator Plate for a Proton-Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell”
Spectronik has been awarded United States Patent No. US 11,929,524 B2 on 12 March 2024.
Invented by Zarli Maung Maung, Jogjaman Jap and Shen Hao, the patent titled “Separator Plate for a Proton-Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell” describes the innovative fuel cell architecture used in Spectronik’s Closed Cathode Air-Cooled fuel cell products – namely the Protium-1000 and above.
Advantages compared to the prior art include the ability to manipulate oxidant flow into the cells to optimize performance and cell uniformity, as well as the flexibility to scale the number of cells without fluid mechanics limitation.
Spectronik’s Protium Series fuel cells are already commercialized in 35+ countries and can be found in the air, on land, at sea and on rail – powering a host of mobile robots and urban electric mobility applications.
