Chunghwa Telecom - the largest telecommunications company in Taiwan, and Thunder Tiger Corporation displayed the Phoenix Hexacopter at the Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition (TADTE) on 15-17 August 2019.
Powered by a 2200W Hydrogen fuel cell from Spectronik, the Phoenix is designed for telecom signal repeater application.
In emergency and disaster relief situations with damaged infrastructure, UAVs carrying telecom signal repeater can quickly restore network coverage, effectively enhancing the safety of first responders and people in the affected areas. The UAVs flying in orbit provide critical voice and data communication and the amount of operational time is directly dependent on how long a UAV can stay airborne.
The Phoenix long flight time of 90min is perfectly suited for this mission critical application.
